Boy George has admitted he ‘doesn’t understand’ I’m A Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here, saying he’s not happy with how he he was portrayed on the show.

The former Culture Club singer, 61, eventually finished in eighth place after apparently threatening to quit the jungle a whopping four times.

In the finale, Jill Scott was crowned as Queen of the Jungle at the end of a series that saw disgraced former Health Secretary Matt Hancock finish third.

Boy George confessed that, as a self-dubbed ‘stomper-outer’, the jungle drove him ‘crazy’ and saw him prepare to leave after spats with campmates.

However, two months after leaving the jungle, he’s said that what we saw on TV wasn’t the full truth, arguing that we didn’t see the best side of him.

Speaking on Greatest Hits Radio, he said: ‘I don’t regret [Celeb], but I don’t necessarily understand the show. What really went on in there wasn’t shown.’

He continued: ‘We had such a laugh and there were some amazing conversations, a lot of intimacy but there was quite a limited narrative that went out.’

‘I mean, you can’t spend 24 hours with someone and not have a decent conversation – I didn’t just talk about mushrooms! I’m not one-dimensional.’

The Karma Chameleon singer, who achieved seven solo top 40 hits and a UK number one, also claimed that people now approach him in the street to say he should have been crowned King of the Jungle.

‘Having come out of the jungle, the amount of people coming up to me saying I should have won is hilarious. Why didn’t they vote for me then?’

Late last year, his admitted that feuds with Hancock and Charlene White made things tense and almost forced him to quit altogether.

He explained: ‘I was amazed how I was able to stop myself from doing a Gemma Collins. I can remember watching her quit and thinking, “That could be me”.

‘The jungle is designed to drive you crazy and it works, because everything in there is impossible.’

Earlier this year, Boy George explained that he has removed ‘any hatred’ of Culture Club drummer Jon Moss amid a lengthy court battle.

The court case involves disputes over the group’s profits following Moss’ sacking by the pop group’s manager in 2018.
