Hairy Bikers stars Dave Myers and Si King delighted fans as they reunited in a social media update, amid Dave’s cancer battle.
The TV favourite had revealed his diagnosis with the disease last year, joking that he’ll be a ‘baldy biker’ for a while, however, in a new video the chef’s hair and beard are growing back, with fans noting how ‘well’ he looks.
Sharing an update months after announcing his diagnosis, he noted that his treatment was ‘ongoing’ and he was ‘kinda doing alright’ as he learns to live with cancer.
Earlier this week, Dave, 65, spoke out about the ‘brutal’ chemotherapy side effects he’s experienced, sparking messages of support from fans.
He’s once again been showered in love in a new video with Si, as the pair chatted on Instagram about their upcoming book, Eat Well Every Day.
They spoke about their favourite recipes, concluding: ‘Just because you’re eating well for your body and mind doesn’t mean it has to be boring food, because it doesn’t.
‘And that’s what the book is all about.’
Fans loved the update with one writing: ‘Looking well Mr Myers! Long may it continue!’
Another penned: ‘Looking good Dave, Si so do you.’
Someone else wrote: ‘Looking great David. Simon still the hairy bikers just a tad silver now.’
‘So so so chuffed and delighted you two top Geordies together doing what you do best,’ another commented while several others echoed how ‘amazingly well’ Dave was looking.
This comes after he candidly about his cancer diagnosis in a new interview recorded this week, saying: ‘It’s funny, when you first start chemotherapy… it’s quite hard. I’m still having it. It really was brutal.’
Speaking on Tommy Banks’ Seasoned podcast, Dave went on: ‘I lost so much weight and then it’s a battle to get your calories in.
‘At first I thought, “Right, this is great, I can eat all those pies I haven’t been eating for years”, except [my] appetite was dreadful!’
He added: ‘For me, a glutton, losing my appetite was awful. A can of soup was about as far as I could go.
‘Now I’ve got to the point where I’m at the weight I want to be, and I want to maintain it.’
