Savage Garden frontman Darren Hayes revealed this week that he was asked to remix his 1997 single, Truly Madly Deeply, as a jingle for fast food deliveries.
And the hosts of The Project couldn’t stop giggling over the alternative lyrics during Tuesday’s episode.
Carrie Bickmore sang along, launching into the jingle, ‘I want to stand with you on food mountain!’

Co-host Kate Langbroek joined in, singing the same lyrics while their male co-hosts looked on, aghast.
‘The next line says I want to float with you with some cheese but the original line was I want to bathe with you in the sea. It should have been I want to bathe with you in cheese,’ Carries suggested.
Waleed Aly looked very dubious, to which Carrie insisted: ‘Doesn’t it fit better?’

It comes after Savage Garden singer Darren Hayes, 49, revealed the awful pitch he received to his followers on Twitter on Tuesday.
The pitch came from an advertising company who wanted Darren to re-record his 1997 single, Truly Madly Deeply, with the lyrics embarrassing altered for a TV commercial.

‘If you knew how much money I turn down and how hard I fight to protect your high school memories…’ the singer jokingly captioned the tweet.
The lyrics from the company read: ‘I’ll bring you Greek, I’ll bring you French, I’ll bring you Japanese. I’ll bring you Thai, steak from the pub, bring all the food that you need.’
‘Close to your door with every step, I’m outside holding your food. It will be warm, I will be tasty ’cause I’m counting on a real good rating. That’s the reason I’m bringing, you deep fried chicken.’

The chorus then followed with: ‘I want to stand with you on food mountain. I want to float with you in some cheese. [insert brand name] Like this forever. Until more fries rain down on me.’
While the Savage Garden star didn’t divulge who made the request to the advertising company, it can be insinuated from the change in lyrics it was most likely a food delivery service.
Truly Madly Deeply was one of Savage Garden’s biggest hits.
